Richardson, Texas: TRUNG NGUYEN COFFEE PREPPING $500,000 NEW SHOP IN RICHARDSON SQUARE
A major Vietnamese coffee brand is expanding its footprint in North Texas with an unusually large new location!
State filings reveal plans for a $500,000 commercial build-out project located at 201 S Plano Rd (Bldg 3, Ste. 318) within the Richardson Square shopping center in Collin County.
The 5,400-square-foot project involves the interior construction of a brand-new Trung Nguyen Coffee shop. The scope of work will outfit the space to support their authentic Vietnamese coffee brewing operations and a modern café seating area.
Construction is scheduled to begin very soon on October 20, 2026, targeting a swift three-month turnaround with completion expected by January 20, 2027.
Trung Nguyen is arguably the most famous coffee brand in Vietnam, known for their traditional slow-drip "phin" filter brewing and bold robusta beans. What makes this Richardson filing so interesting is the unusually large footprint. Because the state permit only registered under the overarching corporate name "Trung Nguyen Coffee," it leaves the specific concept a bit of a mystery. At 5,400 square feet, we are strongly leaning toward this being one of their premium, flagship Trung Nguyen Legend café concepts, which are explicitly designed to be large, high-end destinations. However, it may still turn out to be a Trung Nguyen E-Coffee location! While E-Coffee started as a smaller grab-and-go model, they have recently begun rolling out much larger franchise footprints across Texas. Either way, taking down this much space in the open-air Richardson Square plaza means it is going to be a major destination within the area's vibrant Asian dining scene!
