HOUSTON: MICHELIN-BACKED DENVER CHOPHOUSE "A5 STEAKHOUSE" PLANNING NEW TEXAS TOWER LOCATION
A highly acclaimed, Denver-based contemporary chophouse appears to be setting its sights on downtown Houston!
State filings reveal plans for a significant $5,700,000 commercial renovation project located at 845 Texas Ave (Suite 125) inside the 47-story Texas Tower skyscraper in Harris County.
The project involves the renovation of an existing 6,582-square-foot interior shell space on the building's first floor. The multi-million dollar scope of work will transform the space to accommodate a new location of A5 Steakhouse.
A5 Steakhouse is an upscale, chef-driven restaurant that originally opened in Denver in 2021. Helmed by Chef Max MacKissock, the original location has earned recognition from the MICHELIN Guide and a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. Their menu heavily emphasizes high-quality beef provenance, thoughtfully sourced local ingredients, and unique flavor profiles.
Construction on the new Houston steakhouse is scheduled to begin early next year on January 8, 2026, targeting an approximately 16-month build-out with completion expected by May 28, 2027.
