What's happening with Ollie's Bargain Outlet in Temple

Temple, Texas: OLLIE'S BARGAIN OUTLET PREPPING $560,000 STORE IN SOUTH LOOP SHOPPING CENTER
A massive discount retailer is taking over a large vacant space in Bell County!
State filings reveal plans for a $560,000 commercial renovation project located at 2603 Thornton Lane in Temple. The 33,504-square-foot project involves a complete interior upfit of a large anchor space within the South Loop Shopping Center. The scope of work also includes the construction of a new exterior ramp and a fully updated front facade to welcome the brand new Ollie's Bargain Outlet. Known for its "Good Stuff Cheap" motto and massive inventory of closeout merchandise, Ollie's frequently expands by taking over recently vacated big-box spaces—which directly aligns with the large footprint of the former Big Lots at this exact address.
Construction on the new Temple Ollie's is scheduled to kick off late this year on December 14, 2026, targeting a quick three-month remodel with completion expected by March 10, 2027.
