What's happening with H-E-B in Garland

GARLAND: H-E-B BUILDING NEW SUPERMARKET
H-E-B is officially moving forward with its highly anticipated expansion into Garland!
State filings reveal plans for a massive commercial construction development located at the intersection of the George Bush Turnpike and Firewheel Parkway in Dallas County. This major project will mark the very first full H-E-B location for Garland shoppers.
The extensive development features two separate filings totaling over $24 million in estimated costs. The primary project involves the ground-up construction of a sprawling 129,433-square-foot grocery store with a $23,000,000 budget. A secondary $1,300,000 filing covers the addition of a 5,702-square-foot H-E-B fuel station and car wash on the same property.
As H-E-B continues its major push into North Texas, this new location will bring their famous freshly made tortillas, extensive private-label products, Texas-sized produce sections, and full-service bakery and deli departments to the local community.
Construction on both the supermarket and the adjacent fuel center is scheduled to begin in the spring on April 6, 2027. The main grocery store is targeting completion by March 15, 2028, with the car wash facility expected to wrap up work later that fall on September 21, 2028.
