ALICE: HAWAIIAN BROS ISLAND GRILL BRINGING PLATE LUNCHES TO JIM WELLS COUNTY
A fast-growing restaurant chain known for its island-inspired comfort food is expanding into South Texas!
State filings reveal plans for a $350,000 commercial renovation project located at 200 S. Reynolds St (Suite A) in Alice. The project involves the full interior remodel of an existing 2,163-square-foot restaurant building to house a brand-new Hawaiian Bros Island Grill.
The scope of work will completely overhaul the space to support their quick-service operations, outfitting it with a commercial kitchen and a modern dining area.
If you are unfamiliar with the brand, Hawaiian Bros specializes in traditional Hawaiian plate lunches. Their menu features a mix of sweet and savory meats like Huli Huli teriyaki chicken and slow-roasted Kalua pork, served alongside generous portions of white rice and classic macaroni salad. They are also well known for serving up the famous tropical Dole Soft Serve for dessert.
Construction on the new Alice restaurant is scheduled to begin later this year on November 1, 2026, targeting a four-month build-out with completion expected by March 1, 2027.
